What Fylde Explorers have been up to recently.
Senior Section Dinner Dance
Sometimes it’s fun to dress smart so each year the Explorers and Rangers in Fylde District hold a formal Dinner Dance. As usual the organisers did a fantastic job and everyone had a great time. Click on the picture to see more.
Winter Social
The hardy (or foolish) braved the snow and sub-zero temperatures to have a little moonlight madness. With games, challenges and an excellent breakfast (thanks Dave) a fantastic time was had by all. Thanks to Ray, Ash and all the organisers for putting the event together.
Snow & Ice
It’s not all socialising (well it is really) it’s just that some of it takes more effort than others. This year a number of Explorers and Leaders from the District spent 4 days in the Cairngorms enjoying the best of Scotland’s weather, walking, skiing, climbing and snow holing. Another fantastic event for all ages and all levels of experience.

Quiz Zone - Fylde’s Annual Explorer Quiz Competition
Teams from all the District’s Units congregated on the home of Pytheas ESU to compete for the Quiz Zone trophy. Which despite intense competition was retained for the Trogz ESU by the Norfolk ‘n’ Chance team. Thanks to Tony, Bob and Pytheas ESU for hosting the evening.
Apex Challenge ‘06
Teams from Pioneers, Phoenix and Trogz linked up with Fylde Network to enter the Apex Challenge.
Well done to the Pioneers “Ace of Spades” for a well deserved 4th place and congratulations to the Fylde Network “Grapes on Sunday” team for retaining the Network trophy in Fylde.
St George’s Weekend
Combining a weekend activity camp, fantastic weather and finishing up with the traditional parade Explorers from across the District Gathered to celebrate St George’s Day, the Patron Saint of Scouts. Thanks to all the Leaders for running a great weekend.
County Camp ‘06
As usual the County Explorer Camp was the highlight of the year. Great weather, Great Fun and we all survived the khemi-khazi challenge for another year.
